2. Extract urine first — wet/dry vacuum always preferred; otherwise blot thoroughly with white cotton terry (press and lift; do not rub or scrub).
3. Spray for small and most stains — cover the spot and beyond it. Pour is not for ordinary small jobs.
4. Extract completely — wet/dry vac to pull out urine and Revenge! solution, or extra blotting with clean white terry cloths. Target ~95% moisture. Complete extraction is crucial.
5. Fan or blower — dry as fast as possible. Severe cases may need a second application.

Pour only when a large volume of urine has soaked into the carpet backing and padding. After extracting urine first, pour so product reaches that depth (path may be up to ~2× the visible stain), then fully extract with a wet/dry vacuum. Do not pour without a proper vac.

Cats often leave multiple small deposits, edge-of-carpet marks, or vertical spray. Humans smell “the room”; cats still smell the exact molecular cue. Incomplete cleaning is the #1 reason “it came back.”

Darken the room, scan with a UV blacklight (coming soon in our store), treat every fluorescent hit. Spray, extract with wet/dry vac or blot thoroughly (no scrubbing), fan-dry, recheck with the light. Pour only for large-volume deep urine into backing/padding with a wet/dry vac. If a cat keeps returning, address litter box, vet care, and scent cues together.

They are common home remedies and can help a fresh, light surface accident when you blot aggressively. They are not a reliable permanent solution for urine that reached the pad or for multi-year odor.

Vinegar is acidic and can leave its own smell; baking soda is a mild absorbent, not a deep-pad treatment. Neither replaces professional chemistry plus extraction. Use a UV blacklight after dark. Many dried urine deposits fluoresce. Scan systematically: under sofas, along baseboards, near doors, by litter stations, on stairs, and on the underside of throw rugs. A blacklight is excellent for locating hidden urine and will be available in our store (we’ll list a specific model when we choose one).

Treat every hit, not only the one your nose found first. Overlap treatments slightly. When dry, rescan. Hidden “satellite” spots are why whole-house odor lingers after one obvious cleanup.

Do not steam untreated urine. Heat can set protein soils and make stains and odor worse. That is one of the most common homeowner mistakes we see in the field.

Pre-treat with Revenge!, then extract thoroughly. If you put Revenge! in a machine solution tank, follow the machine maker’s guidance and extract completely. Dry with fans. Cooler water is safer on protein messes than high heat on raw urine.

Immediately blot thoroughly with white cotton terry or extract if possible; stack dry cloths and press (lift, don’t rub). For mattresses, protect the opposite side and dry with strong airflow (fan or blower).

Revenge! is water-based: use only on water-safe fabrics. Not for leather, suede, wool, or other non-water-safe materials. Test a hidden seam for colorfastness. Target the contamination, then get fabric dry fast. Foam destroyed by years of urine may still need replacement.

Concentration, marking behavior, and multi-spot patterns make cat jobs harder. Spray marks hit walls, seams, and vertical fabric. Residual odor is a re-marking magnet.

Treat thoroughly at every location, extract moisture fast, and combine cleaning with behavior and medical checks when accidents continue. Product alone cannot fix an untreated UTI or a full litter box problem.
